Comment: We have had one of our best times in Blackpool with Lorna & Pete. It is so clean it puts a lot of other guest houses to shame. Comment: We are a family of 4 and stay at this hotel twice a year. The family room is massive and the beds are very very comfortable. As the title outlines, it is like home from home for us with nothing being too much trouble. Have known Pete and Lorna for years and first started staying at their previous hotel many years ago and again went to them twice a year. I have stayed in many hotels in Blackpool and I dont think you will find a cleaner, more hospitable place to stay when they are in charge. The breakfast is out of this world Pete really knows how to do a full English with Lorna providing personal and friendly waitress service. Its a lovely walk into the centre of Blackpool (gives you a chance to work off Petes fab brekkie) and room has always been cleaned by the time we return. All in all, excellent clean hotel, great value for money with excellent hosts. Looking forward to visiting at Easter.

Comment: We found the Ellan Vannin very clean and welcoming, we have know Lorna and Pete for a number of years, and pleased that they went back into the Guesthouse business, so we decided to revisit, the work and effort was as expected top class, the rooms were very clean and bright and comfortable. I would recomend this place to all my friends with out any hesitation. I just don't know how the above review Heading Terrible relate to this Guesthouse, only that some people are very hard to please. keep up the good work and see you next year Doris and Jim

Comment: You read how clean it is?. well it is so clean it is out standing. How nice it is to find a friendly guest house .A good fresh breakfast to start the day with. Comment: We would like to thank you both for a fantastic weekend, it was our first time in Blackpool and it will not be last one with you. You here so much in the press about Blackpool but it is not like that.Northshore is the best place to stay in Blackpool as it is more for couples ,nice and quiet .your guest house is like home from home warm and friendly ,it is so clean and well laid out. What we like as well is you could get all the information you wanted about Blackpool from the owners, we got help with booking tickets online for some shows we went to. Comment: Just had a weekend in the Ellan Vannin. I must say how nice it was inside and outside. Food was first class, the breakfast was fantastic, how nice it was to have a fresh English breakfast; we relaxed in the bar and had a fine pint of larger. We were made to feel this was our home; we have never stayed in a guest house so clean. We needed some help to find a show that we liked  and Where to book, in a flash we were given all the information we needed and we had a taxi laid on for us so we could get to the show on time.

Comment: Where do I start; we were recommended this guest house from friends. As we walked in we felt it was homely. You just feel so relaxed from the start; we had a lovely room nice and warm. We had a nice breakfast wow top marks. Penny says thanks for the home made card, I got to say how clean it is through out. We found parking very good .we only stayed three nights and wished we had stayed a week, we made a lot of friends in the guest house and that made our stay. Comment: We have stayed here to see the illuminations and what nice people Lorna and Peter are. If you want a nice friendly guest house this is the place. It is one of the cleanest places we have stayed at; you can see all the work that they have done very nice. We recommend it if you want a clean and friendly place .I can not get over the LCD TV and a sewing kit in the bedroom with your own hair dryer?. The room was nice and warm with a shower that worked. Comment: Home from home!" A warm friendly welcome by owners on arrival and throughout stay. A comfortable and relaxed environment, rooms very clean and well fitted with all necessary mod cons. Pete was very helpful booking theatre tickets on line for us, and on advising on best places to eat.
 Likes: The relaxed friendly banter with Pete and Lorna and the other guests staying there, and also Pete's good hearty breakfast.

Comment: We have just returned from Blackpool. What a nice surprise when we went in to this guest house. When we went in to our bed room, it was so nice and clean. You can tell it has had a lot of money spent on it,I travel all over UK and i have never been in a guest house like this one with such high standards. It is outstanding value for money. What a nice pint of beer and a good breakfast. I have stayed in this road before this is how we came across this place, we knocked on the door asked if we could view a room and this was not a problem and was shown around even thou we were not staying there at this point. My wife and i thank you for a pleasant time with you. We will see you both soon.

Comment: Lorna and Peter What a great couple warm and welcoming nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was fantastic served fresh to order, The room were well decorated I was very impressed. In this Guest House they supply towels, soaps ect and a very well stocked tea tray, they skimp on nothing. I will definately be coming back next year if not sooner. love em

Comment: Beautiul bed and breakfast, fabulous room decorated to a very high standard as is all the rooms, very comfortable and spotlessly clean.Very welcoming surroundings and a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Peter and Lorna, (the owners) are a most lovely couple and made us very welcome and feel at home straight away, nothing was to much trouble for them. A very filling FRESHLY cooked breakfast was served in the morning and set us up for the day. Highly recommended to anybody thinking of staying there. We certainly will be going again, we arrived as strangers but left as friends.

Comment: I have had a look at the comments on the website and I must agree with what the others have had to say. Very high standards and decorated to a high standard. Spotlessly clean and the breakfast is outstanding . We had to attend a conference at the Hilton. We stayed in the Ellan Vannin guest house and this is perfect place as it is close to the Hilton hotel Blackpool. We will return next year look forward to the banter again thank you both. June xx

Comment: Stayed in rooms 3 and 5. Made very welcome by Peter and Lorna. Rooms freshly decorated, very clean and well supplied with everything we needed right down to the Bronte Biscuits. Could hear and see the waves from room 5. Breakfasts were truly memorable - thanks Peter. Lounge/bar was a great place to end the day having a laugh and joke. We'll be back!

Comment: We travel all over UK and stay at a lot of hotels. Blackpool hotels can be a bit hit and miss. We stayed at the Ellan Vannin in Blackpool and it turned out to be one of the best places we have stayed in. It was recommended to us by the British Telecom conference. This was held in the Hilton hotel and Gynn Avenue is just next to this hotel. All our room were very clean and decorated to high standard. We arrived late and this was not a problem and was made to feel very welcome. We had an early breakfast at 6am so we could get of to the conference. We would like to thank the owners of the Ellan Vannin for making our stay memorable. What a wonderful English breakfast we had and to add to this it was cooked fresh. Comment: yes, if your'e lookin for a place to stay in blackpool this is probably the best there is. It is very tidy and the people are very nice. They treat you with much respect and are friendly folks. I would recommend their tryin their full english breakdfast, it is awsome. Comment: Just spent eight nights in the best guest house in blackpool.This was the 6th year in a row and it seems to get better every year.The rooms are excellent the food superb especially the breakfasts.Lorna and Peter are a down to earth friendly couple who make the guest house what it is.They treat nikki as one of thier own which nikki likes.I would recommend the ELLAN VANNIN to everyone.

Comment: This establishment is exceptionally clean and friendly. Hosts Laura and Peter cannot do enough for you. Their breakfasts are very substantial and presented beautifully on the plate (nice and fresh) the best we have ever had .

Comment: We spent a great three days at Ellan Vannin with Peter & Lorna. The rooms were very clean & nicely furnished. Peter`s great full English Breakfast gave us a great start to our days sightseeing in Blackpool, even though we got hit by Hurricane Katia, we still had a great time. Hope we get the opportunity to go back again.

Comment: We were treated to a lovely welcome by Peter, while he sized us up, this was then followed by a great deal of his banter, absolutely loved it. The whole place is immaculately clean and a credit to them. Breakfast is the best I have had ever, while being away from home, no mean feat as I have been in the hospitality industry for 25 years. It was Nikki's first trip to Blackpool and she is already planning for a longer break with Lorna and Peter next year and to be honest, I cant wait either............

Comment: Quite simply an excellent guest house, great value for money, hugely welcoming and room facilities to rival a four star hotel. The owners strike a great balance between letting you enjoy your break and ensuring you have everything you need. Breakfast is hearty and enjoyable with a light option always available. This place is a hidden gem in saturation of guest houses, my wife and I use many hotels and b and b's and this is as an enjoyable stay as we have had anywhere. We quite simply will b back

Comment: I stayed here in 2010 and have to say this guest house will be hard to beat. The minute you enter your made feel welcomed and the hole place is spotless. We stayed on mon-fri special of BB&Em which was first class after breakfast my party was informed on dinner which one of us didn't like so Pete gave a choice for them to pick which he didn't need to do so this was very good of him and I would challenge anyone to find better in what you receive here friendly very clean great food and wonderful owners so thank you for a great stay Pete & Lorna

Comment: A 2 night break at Ellan Vannin, and what a wonderful gem this guest house is. Immaculately clean with so many little touches in the rooms that make you feel special. Our rooms was extremely spacious (room 3). Pete was a wonderful host and cooks a mean hearty breakfast. After staying in blackpool several times in the past we will, without doubt only book to stay here for subsequent visits.
